When it comes to buying a vehicle, there are a lot of things that matter. But one of the most important has to do with so much more than looks or power or convenience, it has to do with your safety.

That’s why Island Mazda thinks it’s worth bringing to the attention of all our friends and clients, that the 2021 CX-30 has won the Top Safety Pick+ Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It is welcomed to the Mazda Top Safety Pick+ winners club by the CX-3, CX-5, CX-9, Mazda6, as well as the Mazda3 Sedan and Hatchback. This sets the brand apart by having more TSP+ Award recipients than any other manufacturer.

For the CX-30, the IIHS noted its impressive performance in all 6 IIHS impact-worthiness evaluations. These include the driver’s small overlap front and the passenger’s small overlap front, as well as the moderate overlap front and side. Additionally, the head restraint tests and roof strength also scored high. It was also given superior ratings for vehicle/vehicle crash prevention and vehicle/pedestrian crash prevention.

Jeff Guyton, President of North American Operations for Mazda remarked that it is an honor to have the CX-30 recognized for its exceptional safety performance. He also noted how it pointed to Mazda’s continued dedication to designing and manufacturing the safest and highest performing automobiles in the world.
